Parts Work & Imaginative Prayer with Soul Sessions
For those carrying church hurt, childhood wounds, relational trauma, or deep grief.
It's hard to find someone who hasn't been touched by harmful church teachings or the misuse of scripture. The difference between those who lose their faith and those who find their way back often comes down to one thing: the right support. If I hadn't found mine when my faith felt like it was unraveling, I know I'd still be avoiding Jesus.
In our Soul Sessions at Meridian, we work with the whole person: your stories, your body, your interior world, and the inner voices that shaped how you came to understand God and yourself. We draw on three ways of working:
The Heartscape: A Soul Survey My signature framework maps your four key relationships: God, Self, Loved Ones, and Calling, through guided reflection and journaling. We use it to locate where healing is needed and where life is already flourishing.
Parts Work Religious harm doesn't just form opinions about God; it forms parts of us in response to those wounds. A part that hides. A part that performs. A part that still flinches at the word church. Inspired by Internal Family Systems, we gently listen to these inner voices, not to silence them, but to understand them and integrate them.
Imaginative Prayer Rooted in contemplative Christian tradition, imaginative prayer invites you into Scripture as a participant. We might linger in a Gospel scene, ask Jesus to meet a wounded part of you in prayer, or simply wait in his presence with a question. Often, through this kind of prayer, the Holy Spirit can bring clarity, freedom, and wholeness.
